Hi, John — this is Katie Hobbs, governor of Arizona.

It’s because of folks like you that we beat MAGA extremist Kari Lake by just 17,117 votes in 2022. And it will be thanks to folks like you that we beat far-right election-denier Andy Biggs this November. For the sake of our state’s future, we must.

Our work to keep moving Arizona forward has only just begun, and the stakes in this race are sky-high. Before I share more of my story with you, will you split a donation of $10 or more to my re-election campaign and Yassamin Ansari?

I’m running for re-election as Arizona’s governor because the work we started almost four years ago must be continued by someone who understands what it means to struggle.

I don’t have the story of a typical politician, John.

Katie Hobbs and her family sitting at a table

I’m a born and raised Arizonan from a working-class family in Tempe that often relied on food stamps and church support to make ends meet. I worked at fast food restaurants like Burger King and Pizza Hut to pay my way through school. My husband and I raised our kids through the Great Recession, experienced a home foreclosure, and we’re still paying off our student loans.

I went on to become a social worker to treat the root problems facing our most vulnerable communities. It was because of my background in social work that I decided to run for office in the first place. I realized: if you can’t change the policy, you have to change the people making it.

So I ran for office — and I won. But after that, I still had to take a second job driving for Uber to make sure my kids had Christmas presents. When I say this work is personal to me, I mean it.

As governor, I’ve always pledged to fight just as hard every day for your family as I fought for mine — and that’s what I promise to keep doing when re-elected this November.

Together, we’ve cut $1.4 billion in taxes for working-class Arizonans, announced $3 million in childcare grants to give families breathing room, wiped out medical debt for nearly 700,000 Arizonans, paused tax giveaways to data centers for three years, and successfully fought to repeal the total abortion ban and defend reproductive rights.

But all of that progress is on the line come November.

My Republican opponent, Andy Biggs, is as extreme as they come: he pushed election conspiracy theories, voted against certifying the 2020 presidential election results, helped organize the events that led to the January 6th insurrection, and to this day, he won’t admit that Donald Trump lost in 2020 or that I won in 2022.

If this man becomes governor, he will be the one responsible for certifying the 2028 presidential election results in Arizona.

Plus, he cheered when the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and supports a total abortion ban; he voted to gut Arizonans’ healthcare and other services to give tax breaks to billionaires; and he supported Trump’s disastrous tariffs that have cost Arizona families and small businesses. He also has a history of protecting predators over women and girls.

Biggs isn’t right for Arizona, but he has the full backing of Donald Trump, JD Vance, and national Republicans — who have collectively named this seat as one of their top targets to flip red in 2026, and they’re prepared to spend whatever it takes to do it.

My opponent may have Trump’s network, his MAGA megadonors, and far-right super PACs in his corner, but I have something far better: you.

So please, John: Chip in any amount now to Yassamin Ansari and my campaign to help us win this critical race on November 3rd. We won by less than 1% in 2022, so if we’re going to win one of the most competitive races in the country and keep moving Arizona forward, it’s going to take all of us.
