In the 2024 general election, every state had major shifts towards Republicans – but not Washington. For five election cycles in a row, Washington State Democrats have increased or maintained their majorities in the state legislature, and have acheived an 8-2 Democratic majority in their U.S. House of Representatives delegation.

So how do Washington State Democrats keep winning? To find out, we asked one of the best organizers around - DNC Vice Chair and Washington State Democratic Party Chair Shasti Conrad.

Shasti has made history time and time again as the first woman of color and youngest ever Chair of Washington State Democrats as well as the first ever woman of South Asian descent to chair any state party in America. Under her leadership, Washington State Democrats has continued to grow and thrive, but she’s not done making history.
