The US Supreme Court just unanimously ruled AGAINST Donald Trump’s half-baked and illegal gerrymander in Missouri. 

In a rare example of the judicial system delivering fair justice, and with no public dissent, the Supreme Court affirmed the judgment and supremacy of the Missouri Supreme Court to rule on its own elections and DENIED MAGA’s emergency appeal to implement their gerrymandered map for the November election.

The case had taken a last minute turn that gave Missouri Republicans the cover they needed to try and thwart the clear order of both the Missouri Supreme Court and the US Supreme Court when a Trump-appointed federal judge on the 8th Circuit, Stephen Clark, issued a conflicting order that the 2025 gerrymandered map must be used in November. 

The US Supreme Court just stayed that order. The map drawn up by right wing activists in Washington, DC and dutifully rammed through the Missouri Legislature last year is now suspended. 

The stakes of this midterm cannot be overstated: flipping the US Senate will immediately end Trump’s stacking of the federal judiciary with MAGA loyalists who issue rulings like Judge Clark just did in Missouri.  

That’s why Defend Our Courts is fighting on two fronts simultaneously this election: 1) expanding the firewall of state Supreme Courts nationwide, and 2) turning out voters in the states with competitive House and Senate races.
