Folks, I get it — I'm not everyone's cup of tea (and if I'm being completely honest, there's just regular old coffee in that cup.☕ [[link removed]] )

Back in 2018, I flipped this district blue for the first time in nearly 50 years. That was only possible because people across the political spectrum took a chance on me. Four terms later, I'm on the ballot again this November, and plenty of folks in IL-06 still won't be voting for me.

That's okay. That's democracy.

I ran to represent all of my constituents with integrity, and that's what I'm going to keep doing no matter what. After all, the cost of living, the climate crisis, health care cuts, and corruption don't care what party you belong to. We’re all in the same boat.

So I’ll continue doing what’s right, not what’s popular. And I’ll continue building a more open, honest dialogue in Washington and here at home.
