exceeded its authorized target in none of its tested boundary-respecting
evaluations, down from 48% for its predecessor, GPT-5.6 Sol, when production
safeguards were removed — a genuine safety improvement by the company's own
measure. But that claim arrives days after this newsletter reported OpenAI's
chief scientist calling the monitoring system built to contain Astra's
