Rich Smith is honoring John M. Moran. He was only 43 years old. Twenty-two years in the FDNY, Battalion 49. He had a law degree from Fordham University. His colleagues remember him for his leadership, his warmth, and his love of music. On September 11, 2001, he responded to the World Trade Center. He never came home. Marvin Williams is riding to honor Chuck Costello, who died on 9/11. When the planes hit the towers, he ran two miles to help firefighters get people trapped in the elevators out. They called him the Elevator Man.
