The grief of everything needs somewhere to go.
Not a ceremony. A practice big enough to hold it — because what happened to us on 9/11, what happened to millions of people ever since and what's happening right now to families being torn apart by masked agents in our own neighborhoods. It's not separate griefs. It's one. Different wound, same body.
That's why we need movement, not just memory. A pattern that took twenty-five years and both parties and every administration to build doesn't come apart because we finally named it in an essay, or felt something true for a day in September. It comes apart the way it was built: in the body, repeated, over time.
The system isn't slowing down. It's accelerating. Which means holding grief privately, individually, once a year, isn't just insufficient anymore. It's part of what keeps the system going.
MVMT is a movement practice for anyone doing change work with their whole self — organizers, healers, teachers, artists, therapists, anyone who works with bodies in crisis, including their own. Guided, improvisational movement built to help you feel where you're still bracing, still running a pattern that's already over, and to explore responding differently. Not performance. Practice.
We meet TOMORROW on the new moon to move the memory into medicine.
