A CEO and a Chairman both bought shares this week in a company sitting on more
cash than its market cap. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

The After File · Filing Alert

This Company’s Cash Is Worth More Than Its Entire Stock Market Value

A CEO and a Chairman both bought shares this week — in a company whose cash
and bitcoin holdings reportedly exceed its own market cap.

A Form 4 filed September 8, 2026 shows Hyperscale Data, Inc. (NYSE American:
GPUS) CEO William B. Horne purchased 160,000 Class A shares across two
open-market transactions on September 4 and September 8, at $0.20 and $0.187
per share respectively — roughly $31,200 total — with no Rule 10b5-1 plan in
place, meaning these were discretionary, not pre-scheduled, purchases.

Confirmed
Horne’s purchases are documented in a Form 4 filed with the SEC and reported
by Investing.com and StockTitan. Days earlier, on September 1, Executive
Chairman Milton Ault III purchased 107,999 shares at $0.25 per share, roughly
$27,000, raising his stake by 36.67% to 402,500 shares. Separately, the company
has disclosed cash, restricted cash and bitcoin holdings of approximately $53
million — reported as nearly 200% of its recent market capitalization — and has
approved a $5 million share buyback program. The company states it is shifting
away from bitcoin mining toward AI data centers, including a potential master
services agreement described as worth up to $3 billion.

Not Yet Confirmed
The $3 billion master services agreement is a reported claim from company
disclosures, not a signed, revenue-generating contract — it remains unrealized.
We have not independently verified the current bitcoin holdings figure beyond
the company’s own press releases, and different releases from recent months
cite varying totals, suggesting the position has been actively changing rather
than static. Whether Horne’s and Ault’s purchases reflect a coordinated signal
or two independent decisions has not been confirmed by either executive.

What Changed
Two of the company’s most senior insiders bought stock in the same week, at
prices between $0.187 and $0.25 per share, in a stock whose 52-week range has
spanned $0.17 to $3.65 — near the bottom of that range. The company’s own
reported net book value is approximately $0.95 per share as of June 30, meaning
both purchases occurred at roughly one-fifth to one-quarter of the company’s
own stated book value.

Why It Changes the Money Trail
Insider buying at a steep discount to disclosed book value, paired with a
board-approved buyback, is a documented signal that leadership believes the
market is mispricing the stock relative to its balance sheet — a reported fact
about management’s actions, not a guarantee the market agrees. The pivot from
bitcoin mining to AI data center infrastructure adds a second layer: if the
transition executes at the scale described, today’s buying will look, in
hindsight, either prescient or premature. We do not know which yet.

Next Checkpoint
Watch for the next quarterly filing disclosing updated cash and bitcoin
holdings, and for any 8-K confirming whether the referenced AI data center
services agreement converts from a stated target into an executed, disclosed
contract with a named counterparty and dollar figure.
