In June, we were down 6 points. In August, down 1. Today, a brand-new Univision poll has this race TIED. 47-47.
This is the moment we’ve been working toward. It’s the first poll of this campaign to show us dead even with Greg Abbott. But it’s not the first to show us within striking distance. Seven other polls in the last month have had this race statistically tied. Four of those had us within a single point.
Here’s what’s changed since the June poll showing us down 6: Texans are getting to know me. Every time voters learn more about who I am and what I’m fighting for, our numbers go up. And every time they take another look at the man who’s run this state for twelve years, Abbott’s poll numbers go down. His approval is underwater. His favorability is underwater.
I don’t need to tell you why. You’re living it. Rising grocery bills, rising premiums, rising property taxes. Data centers flooding our state. And a governor who’s spent over a decade protecting the people at the top instead of the Texans footing the bill.
All the wind is at our backs. Ours is the campaign with all of the momentum. But we don’t have the resources to match it — not yet, not without your help.
