Protect Public Schools from HR1's Federal Voucher Scheme

New Report: "Rejection of Prenatal Personhood”

We are excited to share that “Rejection of Prenatal Personhood,” the fifth report in our Beyond Borders Global Legal Comparison series with the O'Neill Institute, has officially launched!

The “prenatal personhood” movement conflates the value and legal status of prenatal life and seeks to extend legal rights or full personhood before birth. This report — through case analysis, commentary, and comparative tables — analyzes how decision makers in various countries have pushed back against the concept of prenatal personhood, and situates the United States in conversation with legal and policy trends around the world.

SiX Partners with Mississippi Lawmakers to Empower Community Voices on Data Centers

SiX supports legislators across the country to address the explosion of data centers in rural communities. Mississippi Senator Hillman Frazier, in partnership with SiX, recently held a community forum ([link removed]) to give Mississippi communities a meaningful voice in decisions around data center siting in the interim between state legislative sessions. Senator Frazier recently published an op-ed on the impacts of data center development in Mississippi ([link removed]) and the need for state action with support from SiX’s Economic Justice team.

The continued collaboration between SiX’s Food, Agriculture and Rural Economies and Economic Justice teams is helping advance a legislator-led community-centered approach to data center development and ensuring that rural communities have a seat at the table.

Stateline recently spoke with SiX’s executive director about our decade-plus track record, tracing our roots from ALICE's 2012 founding in Wisconsin through today's national push for legislation to hold federal immigration officers accountable. Executive Director EJ Juárez explained how SiX is building power through community-driven policy, not top-down model bills, empowering lawmakers to build legislation with their constituents.
