The invited curator, Mariano Gonzales, will choose the exhibiting artists. Maestro Gonzales is the illustration and printmaking coordinator and has taught courses in foundation, photography, digital arts, metallurgy, sculpture, and painting at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA). He was honored as an "Outstanding Individual Artist" by the Anchorage Mayor's Awards for the Arts in 2010, and received the 2004 "Excellence in Photography" award from the Alaska Photography Society. His work appears in collections at the Anchorage Museum at the Rasmuson Center, the Alaska Museum in Juneau, the University Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) museum, and the School of Business at UAA

Due to current conditions, this exhibition is scheduled entirely online. Selected artists will have the opportunity to give artistic presentations through online platforms such as Zoom or Facebook Live. Entries will be judged and selected based on technical application, originality, and relevance to the theme of the exhibition. Finalists will be invited to display their work in a four-week online exhibition from October 12 to November 15, 2020. The following prizes will be awarded: Heart in Visual Arts $ 200; Heart in Literary Arts $ 200; and Heart in Performing Arts $ 200

ACCEPTED WORKS
OBRAS ACEPTADAS
Visual, scenic, and literary works are accepted. Artists must submit a high resolution photo for visual works. Videos must have a maximum duration of 10 minutes.
All works must be original works of the artist, who must have sole artistic property. Artists can submit up to two individual works.

I EN’s activities include empowering Indigenous communities and tribal governments to develop mechanisms to protect our sacred sites, land, water, air, natural resources, the health of both our people and all living things, and to build economically sustainable communities.
