Hi there,

This time of year is always hectic, between back-to-school, flying back and forth to DC, and less than two months until Election Day. But through it all, I’m focusing on what’s at stake, and why I’m in this fight in the first place.

Like any other mom, I think a lot about my kids’ futures. My oldest son, Davis, entered first grade last month — and it’s brought up a lot of emotions.

They’re not kidding when they say don’t blink!

I’ve been thinking a lot about the world, not only my own kids, but kids across Colorado are going to inherit, and the country we’re going to leave behind for them.

They deserve to grow up feeling safe in their classrooms, real opportunities to succeed, and the chance to live their lives free from hate.

Most importantly, our kids deserve the opportunity to build a better life — no matter their zip code or the family they come from.

But right now, opportunity has never been further out of reach.

All across the state, families are struggling to keep their heads above water with the rising costs of everything from groceries to healthcare to gas.

I know how life-changing a single opportunity can be. Growing up, my schools, my teachers, and my community gave me a chance to build a better life, and eventually make it to the halls of Congress.

I’m fighting to make sure those chances don’t end with me. In the state legislature, I passed laws to expand early childhood education and lower the cost of health insurance. In Washington, I’ve passed legislation to create affordable housing and fought back against the cruelty of Donald Trump — and I’m not done yet.

I’m fighting so all of our children have a better future, and the chance to build the life they want to build. But I can’t win this fight alone.

So I’m humbly asking: Will you chip in whatever you can spare to my campaign today? I hate to ask for your hard-earned money, but flipping the House is the only way we can build the future we’re working towards — and that takes a lot of resources.
