I want to sound an alarm. We are not in normal times in America. I say that because the Republicans are in control of the House and the Senate, and they have abdicated their constitutional responsibilities to keep the presidency in check.

The Senate has not done nearly enough oversight of Donald Trump’s brazen corruption schemes. We have not done nearly enough to confront the dark money flooding our elections. And while families continue to struggle with high prices, Congress has failed to deliver the support they deserve. That is so outrageous that both sides should say: we need some accountability here, we need some answers here.

When a far-right billionaire is given sweeping access to public systems, the burden on Congress is clear: we must ask hard questions, demand records, and make sure the rules apply to everyone, including the most powerful. The American people deserve a government that serves them, not one that caters to one man and executes the MAGA agenda.

How much longer will we let this go on before our democracy moves further and further from us?
