In case you missed it, Congress just passed another bill to put Israel first.

Ironically, lawmakers named this bill the “Protect Economic and Academic Freedom Act.” What it actually does is cut off federal funding for colleges and universities that engage in boycotts against Israel, Israeli companies, or Israeli institutions.

It passed with flying colors in a 237-169 vote, including 33 Democrats who supported it.

According to Track AIPAC, these 33 members have collectively received a total of more than $83 million from AIPAC and the Israel lobby.

Too many Democrats are willing to erode our First Amendment rights and silence students to protect a foreign government at all costs. What’s the point of an opposition party if you’re joining Republicans’ war on free speech?

No matter how many public polls show that a supermajority of Democratic voters oppose Israel’s genocide and our country’s enabling of it, these politicians are more than happy to vote with Republicans if it means keeping the AIPAC checks rolling in.
