Maggie for New Hampshire

Friends, it's Ken Burns.

I've devoted my life to telling the American story — studying the moments when this country faced genuine crossroads, when the path chosen determined not just a generation, but the character of the nation itself.

I believe, with the same conviction I bring to my work, that our country is at one of those crossroads right now.

Our democratic institutions are under pressure in ways we have seldom witnessed. In moments that try the strength of our country, we need the right leaders to stand up and fight for us.

That is New Hampshire Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander, my own representative and friend.

Before I share more, can you chip in $10 or whatever you can to help Maggie defend her House seat and protect the future of our democracy?

If Republicans succeed in unseating Maggie from NH-2, retaking the House becomes virtually impossible — and any chance of accountability dies with it.

I've gotten to know Maggie, and what strikes me most is how rare she is. She carries the Constitution with her everywhere she goes — not as a prop, but as a promise.

Her work exposing Russian corruption earned her a lifetime ban from Russia, personally issued by Vladimir Putin. She was part of the first successful impeachment of Donald Trump. And as a Navy Reserves intelligence officer on the House Armed Services Committee, she recently stood up and said out loud what the law has always required: that our military must follow only lawful orders.

She did not flinch when Donald Trump threatened her. She persists in defending the Constitution. She will not back down.

There's a reason the GOP is pouring everything into defeating her. Maggie's seat is the firewall between them and a House majority — and between them and consequences for their actions.

That's why I'm asking you to make a contribution to Maggie Goodlander's re-election campaign today →
