Millage Increase on November Ballot
On November 3, voters will consider a *0.20-mill increase to the Parks and Open Space Millage*, the first proposed increase above the 0.33-mill rate in 30 years.

Bass River Segment Construction [ [link removed] ]
Bass River Segment Under Construction
Construction is underway on the first 3 miles of the Bass River Segment of the Idema Explorers Trail. Once all phases are complete, the 7.4-mile segment will connect Riverside Park, Bass River State Recreation Area, and Eastmanville Bayou, feature extensive waterfront views, and be almost entirely separated from roadways.

Prescribed fire at park
Prescribed Fire in Ottawa County Parks
This spring, prescribed fire was used to manage 17.2 acres across Ottawa County Parks, with additional burns planned this fall.
How did Michigan’s ecosystems evolve with and come to depend on fire? How do today’s burn crews conduct safe, well planned burns? Join us for a free Learn & Burn event and get answers to all your burning questions!
