Water Quality Forum Set to Highlight Priorities, Conservation, and More
Ottawa County will bring together water professionals, local organizations, and community members on October 23 for the 21st Annual Water Quality Forum, continuing a tradition that began in 2006.
Registration is open and space is limited.
Hosted by the Ottawa County Water Resources Commissioner Joe Bush in partnership with the Outdoor Discovery Network, the forum will feature presentations and discussions with conservation professionals, researchers, and representatives from local organizations and agencies. Attendees will also have opportunities to explore exhibits, connect with water professionals, and learn more about efforts underway throughout the county.
“Water issues touch nearly every part of our community, from the water we drink to the lakes and rivers we enjoy,” said Bush. “The Water Quality Forum gives residents and professionals an opportunity to hear directly from the people working to protect, conserve, and restore water systems. We will share what we are learning and how those efforts are making a difference across Ottawa County.”
Topics scheduled for the forum include:
- Ottawa County Water Priorities
-
Conservation Lightning Round, featuring representatives from Holland BPW, LGROW, ODC Network, and the Ottawa Conservation District
- Drinking Water Panel
- Lake Macatawa Sediment Study
- Paw Paw Park Streambank Restoration
- Engaging Citizens in Watershed Science
- 2026 Ottawa County Groundwater Monitoring Update
The Water Quality Forum is open to all members of the community, including residents, students, professionals, and local officials. Continental breakfast and lunch are included, followed by a post-event cocktail hour.
