Tell Mitch McConnell: Make Election Day a National Holiday →

Voter turnout is critical for a successful democracy.

But the United States has one of the lowest turnout rates of any democracy.

Pew Research Center: U.S. trails most developed countries in voter turnout

Making it easier for people to vote is proven to help boost turnout.

That’s why we need to make Election Day a national holiday!

Make Election Day a National Holiday!

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell thinks making Election Day a holiday is a “power grab” by Democrats.

But the truth is that it’s just too hard for Americans to vote.

Working, taking care of family, traveling to the polls -- for too many people, it’s not easy to cast a ballot.

Voting shouldn’t be a privilege. It’s a right.

That’s why we need to make Election Day a national holiday, so that everyone has a chance to exercise their right.

Let America Vote is committed to creating political consequences for politicians who make it harder to vote. Our boots-on-the-ground teams in Nevada, Tennessee, Iowa, Georgia and New Hampshire knock doors and talk to voters every day to help elect voting-rights champions. This year we've already knocked on 200,000 doors -- and we're nowhere close to slowing down.

This message was sent to [email protected] because you are a vital part of our team. We're able to protect access to the ballot box because of grassroots supporters like yourself. Since we started knocking doors last year in Virginia, we've received more than 90,000 online contributions -- and our average donation is $24.

We can't win the argument over voting rights alone, that's where you come in. If you'd like to join our fight to protect voting rights with a grassroots donation, please click here. Together we can create political consequences for vote suppressors.
