Rick Jackson has launched an $87 million television advertising blitz across Georgia. Between his own money and his campaign account, he’s put more than $118 million behind this run for governor — over $100 million of it out of his own pocket.

He also created a “leadership committee” under Georgia law, which lets him raise unlimited sums, and promptly moved $5 million of it into his campaign account.

At the end of July, his campaign had $4.3 million on hand.

We’re telling you the hard numbers because you deserve to hear it from us before you hear it from a pundit.

Here’s the part the spending can’t buy:

Keisha has been to the small towns and rural counties that get written off every cycle, talking about expanding Medicaid, keeping rural hospitals open, and letting cities and counties cut the sales tax on groceries so families keep more of what they earn at the checkout.

That’s the whole contrast. One campaign is funded by a billionaire. Ours is funded by regular folks like you.

Jackson might be able to flood the airwaves, but he doesn’t have the grassroots army we have hitting the pavement.
