Email from Enough Is Enough I hope you received my urgent message last week. To those of you who were able to send a tax-deductible gift in support EIE's fight against Big Tech, thank you! If you have not yet had an opportunity to donate to this important campaign, please consider doing so right now by clicking here. Sincerely and gratefully yours, Donna My Dear Friends, For the first time in a generation, we are within reach of a huge victory for our children and grandchildren! This year we’ve witnessed a tidal wave of Big Tech landmark legal victories with Meta facing some of the most significant consequences. Meta’s $17 billion settlement with more than 47+ state attorneys general is the biggest Big Tech settlement in history. The settlement rightly raises the bar for new and critical child safety features the rest of the industry should also implement immediately. It will take a combination of Big Tech prioritizing safety over profit, continued parental involvement and timely legislative action to protect children online. Now Congress has an opportunity to turn that momentum into lasting, industry-wide safety standards that will force multibillion dollar Big Tech giants to stop the online sexual exploitation of children that is taking place through their websites and social media platforms. Congress is poised to vote on bipartisan legislation currently awaiting a floor vote in the the Senate including: The Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) requires online platforms to protect minors from harms such as bullying, exploitation, mental-health risks, and addictive features. The STOP CSAM Act directly combats the vile and shocking proliferation of child sex abuse material (CSAM) that threatens the lives of millions of children. The GUARD Act would require “AI companions” to implement age verification, disclose their non-human nature, and face penalties for harmful use by minors. Naturally, Big Tech is doing everything it can to prevent these bills from becoming law. In just the first six months of this year, the 11 largest tech companies spent almost $42 million on lobbying expenses, employing 324 lobbyists just in the second quarter alone. That’s why your voice matters so much. We must be louder than the lobbyists, louder than the Big Tech oligarchs, and it must happen over the next few weeks, while we have so much momentum and before Congress adjourns for this session. Please, will you support our most urgent advocacy efforts to secure passage of vital legislation that will help protect our most innocent souls – our precious children and grandchildren? You can do so online by clicking here. Every donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Children and families cannot wait. Congress must act now. That is why we urgently need your financial support today. Kids are dying or being irreparably harmed. Our opportunity to save lives is now!
