As a kid, I was never the strongest, the fastest — or heck, even the smartest kid on the playground. But I learned something important: Through determination, hard work, and perseverance, any challenge can be overcome.

I never imagined I’d end up in politics. In those early days, I studied science and began my career as a geologist. That is, until the company I worked for was bought, and I was laid off for 27 months.

Eventually, I decided to take a gamble. I took every scrap of savings in my bank account and opened my own business, Wynkoop Brewing Company, in downtown Denver.

I loved the Wynkoop — and loved not having a boss. But as time went on, I saw firsthand just how often the government seemed to work against the little guy — working people and small business owners like me. So I took a leap of faith and ran for Mayor of Denver to fix that. I never even ran for student council before! And we won.

Then, I went on to serve two terms as Governor of Colorado, always focusing on putting Colorado families first. In 2020, we took that same spirit and, with the help of folks like you, flipped Colorado’s Senate seat blue.

Since then, we’ve worked to deliver real results for working families. From passing legislation to lower housing costs to addressing climate change head-on.

But with President Trump and his MAGA cronies in full control in Washington, our progress is under attack. We’re doing everything in our power to fight back and protect working people from the worst of MAGA’s ruthless agenda.
