I will never accept debates over our basic right to control our own bodies as normal. The most personal aspects of our lives should not be argued over like abstract ideas in court.

Yet tomorrow, as part of continued efforts to restrict abortion nationwide, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals will hear arguments in Louisiana v. Federal Drug Administration (FDA). The case is yet another attempt by Louisiana to restrict access to mifepristone, a medicine prescribed for abortion and miscarriage care.

For 40 minutes, judges and attorneys will pick apart our health, our bodies, our rights.

It's time for OUR VOICES to be heard. We will not sit quietly as reproductive freedom comes under attack yet again. That's why we're looking for 750 Planned Parenthood supporters to join in and use this moment to make a powerful statement supporting reproductive rights and care. Will you be one of them?
Protect Abortion Access and Reproductive Rights. 750 Donors in 48 Hours. Make My Gift.

This case is about control. The state of Louisiana is suing to end mail and pharmacy access to mifepristone.

They are suing because even a near-total abortion ban in Louisiana doesn't give them enough power over our bodies. They also want to get between patients and providers — even in states where abortion is protected.

This is not the only major attack coming on abortion.

During his confirmation hearing in July, Attorney General Todd Blanche promised the Department of Justice will work with the federal government "so that the Dobbs decision becomes permanent in every single state."

This is what we are up against — and it's up to all of us to protect and expand our right to control our own bodies. Will you help reach our goal of 750 donors with a gift to Planned Parenthood before courtroom arguments tomorrow?

We'll be in touch with updates as this case moves forward. Thank you for staying with us.

Sincerely,

Alexis McGill Johnson, President & CEO
