LUNG FORCE Walk

John,

Have you heardLUNG FORCE is going VIRTUAL! Because your health and safety are our top priority, we’ve decided to make the National Capital Are LUNG FORCE Walk a virtual event. The virtual walk week will take place October 11th through the 18th, culminating on the 18th with a virtual ceremony and online events to celebrate our voices and success!

Although we can’t be together physicallywe’ll be together in spirit and in strength. This year we WALK WHERE WE ARE, in our neighborhoods, parks, or even on a treadmill!

The work of the American Lung Association has become increasingly relevant during this health crisis. Your support allows us to take decisive action during these uncertain times, including a $25M initiative to stop COVID-19 and fund preventative research against future respiratory virus pandemics.

When you raise $100 or more by October 25th, you will receive a 2020 walk t-shirt in the mail. NEW THIS YEAR – teams that raise $1,000 or more will be part of the Mission Possible Club and will listed on this year’s shirt and web page.

All participants are eligible for our LUNG FORCE Walk Incentives. View this year’s items here.  Jumpstart your fundraising! When you make a self-donation of $33 or more, you will receive an official American Lung Association Sports Scarf.

Registration is open! Share the word with your friends, families, and co-workers to register and join your team today.  Wherever YOU are YOU can BE PART OF THE FORCEIf you have already registered and begun fundraising, your donations have transferred over automatically to the virtual event!

Lung Cancer/Saved by the Scan: Why should you get a lung cancer screening test?

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related death in America, but now there's hope. This screening is used to detect lung cancer early, when it is more likely to be curable. If lung cancer is caught before it spreads, the likelihood of surviving five years or more improves to 56 percent. Learn more about Saved by the Scan
