The Channel 4 expose on Nigel Farage and Reform UK confirmed what we all know to be true. Reform UK are a serious risk to our fragile democracy.

44 Reform UK councillors have already quit the party in just 123 days. The party is clearly incapable of governing - at any level.

But why did they leave? Some resigned over past social media content, like Nathaniel Menday, who was elected to Sheffield City Council before being suspended for sharing photos on X of a Nazi flag and an image of Hitler's Mein Kampf. Trafford Councillor Billy Burke, meanwhile, was suspended after being charged with possessing an offensive weapon.

Elsewhere, Kirklees councillor David Rowan was suspended after social media posts showed him calling for former House of Commons speaker John Bercow to be hanged. While Peter Reeve from Peterborough Council was suspended after being charged with drink-driving.

These incidents show how inept Reform UK’s vetting process is. From the very top of the party with James Orr and Dan Jukes, to local councillors, Reform UK is full of those who are unfit for public office.
