Today is about honoring the working people who fought for fair wages, safer workplaces, and a real voice on the job—and recommitting ourselves to that fight
because we still have work to do.
Too many people in the South Sound are working hard while watching the cost of housing, groceries, health care, child care, and transportation rise faster than their paychecks—and our story isn’t unique.
I believe that if you work full time in Pierce or Thurston County, you should be able to afford to live in Pierce or Thurston County. That is the measure of whether our economy is actually working.
