Elections afford educators a unique opportunity to teach students about the inner workings of our democracy, the importance of civic engagement, and how to navigate the electoral process. They also provide an opportunity to help students analyze issues of bias, discrimination, diversity, civil rights and justice. Young people want to be part of the conversation--and should be. They are eager for information, space to reflect and dialogue.
Because elections often bring about differences of opinion and strong feelings, it is important to enter these conversations with an understanding of how to create an inclusive space for dialogue and how best to engage students on topics related to the election and campaigns.
ADL’s Mid-Atlantic/Midwest Division invites you to join this interactive webinar for educators to discuss core issues related to the election, and how to navigate these challenging topics and teach about the election through a social justice lens. This webinar will be held on Wednesday, September 16th at 4:30pm ET/3:30pm CT.
Note: Closed captioning will be provided for the duration of this webinar.
