Election day is less than two months away and the stakes could not be higher, John.

In Washington state, the race for governor is down to incumbent Governor Jay Inslee and gun safety enemy Loren Culp. Culp, the chief and sole police officer in Republic, WA, only became a celebrated right-wing figure after he claimed he would refuse to enforce voter-approved Initiative 1639. Here is Culp at a campaign rally bragging that he would not enforce the measure because it is "a violation of [18 to 20 year olds’] constitutional rights." The very next day, a judge ruled (again) that I-1639 is, indeed, constitutional.

We cannot afford to let him win. Can you give $5 today to help defend I-1639 and protect our progress in the fight against gun violence?

At that rally, Culp gloated about how his efforts to allow teenagers to walk around with semi-automatic assault rifles earned him a spot on Tucker Carlson’s show. The tone deaf statement came less than a week after a 17-year-old murdered two people and injured another with an AR-15 during a racial justice protest in Kenosha, WI.

Culp’s election would have devastating consequences. It could give him the power to undo years’ worth of our work on gun responsibility and embolden other law enforcement officials like him who have refused to do their job and enforce our gun safety laws.

Please, make a donation today to help us keep gun rights extremism out of office. Lives depend on our success.

Thank you,
