With no Democrat on the ballot, does Idaho's Jim Risch become vulnerable?
I didn't get into this race for US Senate to beat one person or another. When I chose to ran for US Senate in Idaho as an Independent Veteran, I didn't want to ask voters to choose me because I was the better of two evils. And those voters have joined me in a movement to elect an Independent Veteran.
But now, with the Democrat stepping down, I'm the only candidate who can flip this seat and deliver for working class Americans — instead of just the White House.
Our election is now one of many across America that is daring to give voters a real choice instead of the same binary option. I spoke with journalists after this breaking news and I told them we stand a real chance now at shocking the country. I told them we do that by putting people before parties, unity before division, and solutions before politics. And I told them I'm Todd Achilles, an Independent Veteran running for US Senate, and we deserve better.

I'm running for US Senate because the two-party system has failed America. Both parties have kept us in wars, favored big business, and left working families out to dry.
I grew up on a family farm. I learned from a young age the values of hard work and caring for others. As a country, we need more elected leaders who understand both of them, instead of only one of them. After serving in the United States Army as a tank commander and armor officer, I remained in public service and served in the state House of Representatives.
I've never run from a hard fight. That's why now, I'm running for US Senate as an Independent to retire Jim Risch and create a new coalition to fight for change. Will you chip in today to today and get this mission done?
Here are my core priorities: stop corruption in Congress, stop government intrusion into our private lives, and stop endless wars. There's a lot of powerful people who don't share those priorities... that's why I need support from folks like you.
