If approved, the proposed merger would be the largest energy acquisition in the history of the country and would create the largest electric utility in the world. Before we create such a powerful entity, we need answers to many questions:
What would the merger would mean for our rates, energy reliability, Virginia jobs, and clean energy?
What are the risks in giving control of decisions about Virginians’ power to a Florida-based company?
Can the SCC adequately evaluate a decision of this magnitude without specific guidance in the code defining it's analysis?
Why are the customer benefits and employee protections temporary while profits and control are permanent?
Why are data centers getting large amounts of compensation instead of giving larger compensation to individuals and families, at a time when Dominion is simultaneously asking to increase rates for Virginians?
Virginians deserve answers, and I will continue asking those questions and advocating for the people I represent. I have twice written to the SCC urging regional, in-person public comment. We have had hearings here in Loudoun before, and hundreds of residents had the opportunity to speak directly to the decision-makers. And, I will keep fighting to ensure your voice is heard!
