September 4, 2019: An average of 277 people move out of the New York City metro area every day. That’s more than double the number from a year ago.[1]

It’s also the biggest exodus in the nation. An average of 201 people leave Los Angeles every day, and 161 say farewell to Chicago.

Where are they going? Seven metro areas are welcoming more than 100 new arrivals every day: Dallas, Phoenix, Tampa, Orlando, Atlanta, Las Vegas, and Austin.
