Today, as I celebrate this Labor Day with friends and community members throughout the Central Coast, I am reminded of the many rights and privileges we enjoy because of the workers who made them possible.
Labor Day was established in the late nineteenth century at the urging of labor activists in order to recognize the great impact American workers have on our society. We owe much to these visionary labor leaders and are grateful for their efforts.
The labor movement continues to be essential to our country’s manufacturing industry and economy. Their hard work and dedication keeps our nation running, and I am proud to stand beside them and continue the fight for fair wages and affordability.
I hope you are able to enjoy today safely with friends and family. Thank you for joining me in acknowledging workers throughout our country, and best wishes for a Happy Labor Day!
Sincerely,
Salud Carbajal
