Dear Activists,

This would be an excellent topic for a letter to the editor this week.

Healey and Markey are avoiding debates, including in Western Massachusetts, while mail ballots can start going out as early as September 29th.

Incumbents with failed records do not get to run out the clock! Springfield and the rest of Western Mass are not an afterthought. Voters deserve answers on a public stage, not press statements from Boston.

We need to push demanding a debate in Western Mass before thousands of ballots are already in voters’ hands. If incumbents wait until after voting has begun, they are not participating in an election. They are managing one.

Some key points:

  • Intentionally avoiding debates before voting starts is hiding from voters.
  • Western Mass deserves answers on a public stage.
  • Between Healey’s cocaine-trafficking aide and the $2 billion sweetheart deal for a Boston congresswoman’s husband, these politicians should face Western Massachusetts voters.

Send to your local paper and to Springfield-area outlets. Keep it short, local, and firm.

Thank you for pushing this.

Sincerely,

Amy Carnevale

Chairman, Massachusetts Republican Party

Quick tips:

  • Always include your full name, town, and phone number (many papers require this for verification and won’t publish without it).
  • Letters are usually short (under 200–300 words); op-eds are longer (600–800 words).
  • Check each page for current guidelines, as some papers prefer online forms over email and many require exclusivity.
