John,
Happy Labor Day, Philly!
Today, we honor the people who keep our city moving — the workers who show up every day, care for our communities, serve our neighborhoods, and help build the future of this city.
Labor Day is an important chance to recognize the value of work and the people behind it. It also reminds us that Union membership has laid the path to the middle class for so many Philadelphians.
I’m proud to be a Mayor who stands with working people and organized labor. I know that when our workers have a strong voice on the job, our families and communities are stronger too.
To every worker who helps make Philadelphia stronger: thank you, and Happy Labor Day.
One Philly, A United City.
— Mayor Cherelle L. Parker
