Happy Labor Day John!
It's September 7, and we're thanking a Union for the long weekend, for weekends in general, and for building the middle class.
It might be a holiday, but we've got a lot going on … so get comfortable and read on. ⬇️
💪 CELEBRATING LABOR
OKDEMS stands with organized labor. An economy that works for working families works for everyone. That's why Democrats up and down the ballot are fighting for:
* Excellent public schools in every zip code
* Accessible, affordable healthcare in every community
* No tax breaks to companies whose employees qualify for state assistance
* Protection of and investment in public service pensions
* Good-paying jobs that lead to home ownership and retirement savings
* An increased minimum wage

💜 WINNING VOTES
This week, I drove State House candidate Megan Hornbeek Allen [[link removed]] for door-knocking in Edmond. She was working a list of Republicans, and we pulled up to a house with not one, but two, signs for her opponent in the yard.
She hesitated, but then hopped out of the car headed for the front door. Just at that moment, the homeowners backed out of their garage and rolled the car window down. A 10-minute conversation in the driveway followed, filled with laughter and connection.
Megan walked away with at least one more vote. And this isn't an isolated experience. I hear similar stories from candidates every day.

✂️ CONGRATS, CHEROKEE COUNTY!
Cherokee County Dems [[link removed]] officially opened their new headquarters with a ribbon cutting and party last week. There was a big crowd and lots of excitement. Just the presence of a county party shifts elections by 3 - 7 points! We're so proud to have 54 active counties – up from only 25 eighteen months ago.
