Labor Day is more than the unofficial end of summer.

It’s a day to recognize the generations of working people who organized for the things we now consider fundamental: safer workplaces, fair wages, reasonable hours, weekends, and the right to have a voice on the job.

Those victories weren’t handed down. Workers fought for them.

And that fight continues today.

I’m proud to stand with working people and unions in Rhode Island and across the country. In Congress, I’ll keep fighting to protect the right to organize, strengthen worker protections, create good-paying jobs, and make sure every American has access to paid time off.

Because when working people have a seat at the table, we are stronger.

So today, to every worker who keeps Rhode Island moving, and to every union member who fought to make work better for the generations that followed: thank you.
