Hey there,

We’ll be frank: Unlike many of the top 2020 Democratic targets, Espy for Senate isn’t getting the national investment it should.

Why so little attention for the Black man running for Senate in Mississippi.

By any normal standard, we’re running a successful and groundbreaking Senate campaign. In the past month alone, we:

  • Outraised Confederate Cindy Hyde-Smith — not just once, but twice
  • Launched our first TV ads (wayyy before Confederate Cindy)
  • Built a groundbreaking, first-in-the-state organizing campaign
  • Received polling results that have us just 5 points down

Despite all this, Democratic party elites have ignored our race for the U.S. Senate in Mississippi. They have signaled that they don’t think a Black man in Mississippi can win — and they continue to count out the South and Black voters.

On Election Day, it is absolutely possible to elect Mike Espy in Mississippi in just 55 days. But with the party leaders counting us out, it’s going to take a big grassroots effort to win. Will you chip in $10 to our campaign right now? Even just $10 is a direct investment in electing the first Black senator from Mississippi since Reconstruction.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

Party leadership is again counting out a Black man who has proven that he can win white voters and turn out Black voters. And what’s worse — party leadership is once again taking Black voters and the South for granted.

Mike has made it clear he will be an independent voice for Mississippians — not just beholden to party bosses, like Cindy Hyde-Smith’s loyalty to Mitch McConnell. Mississippi needs an advocate for Mississippians, not another partisan hack funded by McConnell’s Super PACs and dark money groups.

So, please, chip in $10 — or whatever you can — to own a piece of our historic campaign and help grow our grassroots effort to elect the first Black senator in Mississippi since the Reconstruction era.

Thanks,

Team Espy
