John -- When incumbent Shelley Moore Capito and I sat down with The Dominion Post editorial board last week to discuss our plans for office, Capito said we have a “good contrast of beliefs.”

You’re damn right we do - one of us believes in toeing the party line and politics for profit, and one of us believes in people and principles. That’s not just a contrast of beliefs, that’s a contrast of basic priorities.

People should always be the priority. Don’t you think we deserve a senator who practices that, rather than just preaching it? [[link removed]]

I’m running for office to serve the people of West Virginia - everyday people like myself. I know what happens when we let out-of-touch, career politicians like Capito, who come from a wealthy political dynasty, continue to legislate against the people. We need a senator who actually knows what the people need rather than one who’s bankrolled by corporate PACs - and has the voting record to prove it.

My only boss in the Senate will be the people who elected me. That’s why I don’t accept any corporate money. Can you chip in $10, $15, $20, or whatever you can now to create a new, people-focused system? [[link removed]]

The government isn’t supposed to be politics as usual vs. the people. Policies that are good for Americans can only happen when the people wield the power. That can only happen if people like you, who share this vision in the most important election year of our lives, support our campaign to tear down this broken system that’s run on big money and party-line politics. Can we count on your support right now? [[link removed]]

We can’t do this without you, and with less than two months until the election, we need you behind us more than ever.
