Senate Republicans recently announced that they have no plans to spend party
money to help conservative Ken Paxton win the U.S. Senate race in Texas.

"We in the Senate don't have the money budgeted for Texas. We need help from
the president," said Senator John Kennedy (R-LA).

Republican Leader John Thune (R-SD) later confirmed the plan to abandon Paxton
financially and deflected responsibility to the president. "I'm hoping the
White House will become engaged; Texas is an incredibly expensive state," Thune
said.

What makes this so infuriating is that the Senate GOP spent over $100 million
attacking Ken Paxton in the Republican primary.

They had plenty of money to spend on Texas when they were trying to defeat a
conservative, but when it comes to defeating a Marxist like James Talarico,
they’ve got nothing.

You would think that since they spent so much against the party's eventual
nominee, they would feel some obligation to help him now.

This race is competitive because they hurt Paxton in the primary. It should be
on them, not President Trump, to clean up their mess. You break it, you own it.

Sadly, that's not going to happen.

You may hear party leaders say they "hope" Ken Paxton wins and they "hope"
President Trump helps him, but they have closed their wallets and are quietly
rooting for him to lose.

They don't want another conservative in the Senate who will hold them
accountable, and they would love to tell everyone that Ken Paxton was a bad
candidate who cost them the majority, even though they're the ones who
kneecapped and left him for dead.

Conservatives are right to be mad about this, but being mad won't change it.
We need to take immediate action.
