John,

I wanted to personally invite you to join me for the 2020 Innovative Housing Summit, hosted by the Atlanta, GA based MicroLife Institute, next Thursday, September 17th, at 1 pm via Zoom.

Many of you may remember MicroLife Institute as the developer of Georgia's first tiny home neighborhood, the Cottages on Vaughn, being constructed in downtown Clarkston. Outside of their innovative work in Clarkston, MicroLife has been pushing the conversation on how we can reimage our built environment and live more with less space.

The Innovative Housing Summit continues that important work by bringing together local and regional thought leaders in the housing space for an all day conference. Normally, this would be an in-person event, however this year due to COVID-19 concerns, it is all virtual... and has gone nationwide.

This year's speakers and panelists come from around the US, as well as here in Atlanta's backyard.

In particular I wanted to draw your attention to the keynote speaker Professor Richard Rothstein, the author of the book The Color of Law. Who will kick off the summit at 1 pm eastern time.

Professor Rothstein is a highly recognized academic on housing and racial justice issues, the history and policies to remedy the systemic discrimination and racism that exists at the core of our own government(s)' housing policies, and disproportionately impact Black Americans.

His keynote will set the stage for what will be a dynamic, informative and action inspiring summit - as we bring together housing advocates, builders, and racial justice activists to address how innovations in our housing policies, zoning and the built environment can help create more equal and equitable communities.

I have personally signed up as a sponsor for this year's summit, and because of that I would like to offer all of my subscribers a unique discount code that you can use to reserve your virtual seat.

Take care out there!

- Ted

Subject: Innovative Housing Summit 2020

I'm proud to announce that this year's Virtual Innovative Housing Summit will feature a keynote presentation by Richard Rothstein, the author of The Color of Law: A Forgotten History of How Our Government Segregated America.

Rothstein has gained notoriety in the housing policy and racial justice world in recent years, following the release of his book and the insightful research that revealed the local, state, and federal housing policies that have perpetuated segregation in America. He also serves as a Distinguished Fellow of the Economic Policy Institute, and a Senior Fellow (emeritus) at the Thurgood Marshall Institute of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.

We will kick off the summit with a keynote address from Professor Rothstein - grounded in the historical fair housing barriers created by local elected leaders and planners through zoning laws still on the books today, and how we can begin to create integrated neighborhoods with abundant housing options for all.

From there, we will spend the rest of our time together with housing experts focused on the intersection of racial justice, housing policy, and innovations in the built environment.
