In a 6‑3 decision, the Supreme Court kneecapped the Voting Rights Act. This decision is intellectually dishonest, wrong, and overrides decades‑old civil rights law.
States are now permitted to draw district lines to erase the votes of minority voters ‑‑ with zero consequences. As Justice Elena Kagan said in her powerful dissent, this ruling is the "demolition of the Voting Rights Act."
To put a check on Republicans and fight for voting rights, it's more important than ever that we flip the Senate. Please, chip in $7 to the DSCC now to help win in November to prevent further damage and hold Trump and his cronies accountable.
