Hi John,
The adventures of my life have taught me a lot of lessons over the years. But here’s one of the most important: We have to be comfortable with contradiction. I’m a former corporate lawyer but I’ve been arrested over a dozen times for protesting corporations. I’m a vegan, but I have good friends who are factory farmers. I abhor mainstream politics, yet I’ve spent most of the past few years trying to create change in mainstream political institutions. I am a walking contradiction -- but so are you.
My new podcast, “The Green Pill,” explores these contradictions in all of us and how they can lead to transformation. The idea behind the Green Pill is simple: When you realize the suffering of animals matters, everything around you suddenly changes. The world around you turns into a living contradiction. But the concept goes far beyond animal rights. It’s about how the tension within us can lead to transformation -- for us, and for the world.
Listen to the first episode of “The Green Pill” with guest Ezra Klein
Ezra Klein created the concept of The Green Pill — the namesake of this podcast. He is a world-renowned political journalist, founder of Vox Media, former columnist at the Washington Post, and host of The Ezra Klein Show.
In this first episode, Ezra and I talk about the Matrix we’re living in, the green pill each of us can take that changes everything, and the connection between our individual action and the collective action we need to change the world.
So are you ready to take the green pill? Listen to the podcast here.
