Happy first day of Nebraska football season!! 🥳🌽 Here’s a throwback pic from last year to celebrate!

Friend, today is practically a national holiday in Nebraska: the first college football game for Nebraska! It’s Denise Powell here and I want to let you enjoy the rest of your day (and the game 😉), so I’ll make this quick.

I love Nebraska! From our friends and families to our parades to our county fairs and more, this state has so much to offer. Plus, I bet you didn’t know these fun facts:

🌳 Arbor Day was started in Nebraska in 1872, with over 1 million trees planted on the first Arbor Day ever!
🥪 The Reuben sandwich was invented in Omaha at the Blackstone Hotel in the 1920s.
🥤 Edwin Perkins invented Kool-Aid, the popular flavored drink powder, in 1927 in Kearney, Nebraska.

Nebraska is home to innovation, great food (the best corn), and even better people!
