Let Montgomery County’s Planning Board do its job

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich vetoed James Hedrick’s reappointment to the Planning Board, which had been made by unanimous vote of the County Council. The County Council can override Elrich’s veto. In other words, the council can make a choice about whether our county’s land use will be governed by the interests of today’s diverse residents, or by the whims of long-dead real estate developers and civic association presidents.
