Swing Left recently launched a volunteer action called social banking, and you can do it right from your couch.
A social bank works a lot like a traditional phone bank. Volunteers gather virtually at the same time, but instead of making phone calls, we spend an hour engaging with pro-democracy content.
In 2026, control of Congress and state governments will come down to key competitive races across the country. But reaching voters today means breaking through in the places where they are already spending most of their time: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Twitter.
Every like, comment, share, and full video view feeds the algorithm, pushing these posts onto the For You Pages and Instagram and Facebook Reels of everyday voters who aren't already following political accounts. When a large group of us does this together, the effect multiplies, cutting through the online noise and giving our message a huge boost.
So far, volunteers are rating this experience at an average of 93% positive, noting that the tool is easy to use, effective, and a good use of their Thursday nights.
