Once Upon A Darker Time

Sleeping beaty image with man looming over her

How did fairy tales develop from dark tales for adults, to the child friendly stories we know today?

Most of us know the story of Sleeping Beauty, but the tale we know today is very different from the original version. In a fascinating talk, lecturer Sam Maxfield explores the history and development of these stories which are so much a part of our modern culture.

This talk does include adult themes and is not suitable for children.
