That's how many days are left until November 3rd.

I could write you the standard version of this email, the one with the countdown clock and the words "critical" and "everything is on the line." You've read that email. I've sent that email.

Instead, I want to make an engineer's argument. Not "give now because I'm panicking." Give now because a dollar in September does more work than a dollar in October, and I can show you the math.

Advertising gets more expensive, not less. Every campaign in the country converges on the same screens in October. Same message, same audience, higher price. We are buying the identical thing today for less.

Mail has a lead time. A piece that lands in a mailbox in October has to be designed, printed, and dropped weeks before that. Money that shows up in October cannot buy October mail. It buys November mail, which arrives after people have already voted.

Organizers compound. Someone we hire this week knocks doors for 60 days. Someone we hire on October 5th knocks for 29. Same salary. Half the doors.

And here in Illinois, people vote early. Vote-by-mail ballots start going out this month. For a lot of IL-06, Election Day starts in September. A program that starts in late October is aimed squarely at people who have already voted.

There’s no need to manufacture an emergency. The same money, spent 60 days out, buys close to twice the campaign efforts it buys 30 days out. So will you chip in $6 for the 60 days ahead? Or $60, if you can swing it? [[link removed]]
