Hi John,
Controversial police reform measures are moving through the liberal-dominated Virginia state legislature, and officers are getting worried. One of the most noteworthy of these measures is a bill that reduces the charge for assaulting a police officer from a felony to a misdemeanor. With attacks against police officers on the rise across the country, this bill will only further endanger our women and men in blue.
Virginia’s Roanoke County Police Chief Howard Hall: “Who in Virginia right now would want to be a police officer? Nobody can give me an answer to that question and frankly, I have a hard time answering it myself and that presents a significant problem for safety in our communities.”
We’ve seen meaningful police reform come out of more conservative states like Iowa and Ohio that address concerns their communities have without putting officers’ lives in potential danger. Liberal legislators in Virginia need to take note.
Sincerely,
Casey
