Governor Gordon recently attended a Cheyenne LEADS luncheon, "Economic Essentials" where the main discussion topic was economic development.
The Governor, along with University of Wyoming President Shawn Reeves and Wyoming Business Alliance President Renny McKay, discussed why education is such an important driver of economic development.

The WY We Care Survivors Campaign [ [link removed] ] is a statewide effort to reduce suicide risk, increase awareness, and normalize conversations about suicide across Wyoming communities. The campaign amplifies the voices of individuals with lived experience and connects people to support through 988. It is part of the WY We Care Initiative.

Since it's inception in 2023, the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline has been an important resource for Wyoming citizens. In 2026, the two call centers took 7,531 calls - averaging 628 calls a month. They also took 5,210 text/chats - averaging 434 a month.
Understanding the resources Wyoming has to offer those in need is critical to ensuring our friends and family members have access to these life saving resources.

Call or text 988—or chat online at chat.988lifeline.org [ [link removed] ]—to connect with care and support during a mental/emotional health crisis, or for substance-related concerns.
You can also contact 988 if you’re worried about a loved one who may need crisis support.
What happens when you call 988?
First, you’ll hear a message with service selection options for Veterans, Spanish-language, or your local 988 Lifeline contact center. You’ll hear hold music until you’re connected to a live certified crisis intervention specialist, who will say hello, introduce themselves, and ask you if you are safe.
After they ask about your safety, your specialist will listen to you, understand how your problem is affecting you, provide support, and may also share helpful resources.
What happens when you text 988?
When you send a text to 988, you’ll be given options to connect with:
* A live certified crisis intervention specialist from the main 988 Lifeline
* A specialist from the Spanish-language Lifeline (text AYUDA)
* The Veterans Crisis Line (text 838255)
You will be asked to accept the 988 Terms of Service, then to complete a brief survey to help your crisis intervention specialist understand how they can best support you. While you’re waiting to be connected, you’ll receive a “Wait” message with a survey link to answer optional questions.
Once connected, your specialist will say hello, introduce themselves, and ask if you are safe. They will listen to you, provide support, and may also share helpful resources.
What happens when you chat with 988?
After clicking “Chat,” a new window will open, with a brief survey to help 988’s certified crisis intervention specialists understand how to best support you. You’ll then see a message to indicate you’re being connected with a live counselor.
Once connected, your specialist will say hello, introduce themselves, and ask if you are safe. They will listen to you, provide support, and may also share helpful resources.
