LINDSAY CLANCY JURY DRAMA
Six days in, the Lindsay Clancy jury still can’t agree — and it may come down to a single holdout.
On Thursday, the jury foreperson reported one juror refusing to follow Judge William Sullivan’s instructions on reasonable doubt, prompting defense attorney Kevin Reddington to demand the juror be removed.
Sullivan then questioned the jurors one by one, appeared satisfied with their integrity, re-read the reasonable-doubt standard, and sent them back for more deliberations. But they did not reach a verdict by Thursday afternoon.
The jury returns Friday morning with a mistrial now on the table.
TRUMP’S PLAN TO SLASH WELFARE FRAUD
President Trump has a plan to slash welfare fraud.
Instead of the federal government handling welfare, Trump said this week that welfare should return to state control. Doing so, he estimated, would eliminate 75% of welfare fraud.
“I think we have to give that back to the states,” Trump said. “The states have to run all of that stuff, and you’ll cut it down by 75%, and it’ll be run better.”
The idea is this: If states were solely responsible for welfare programs, they’d be incentivized to root out fraud. Right now, the federal government heavily subsidizes state welfare programs, an arrangement that has left them ripe for fraud and abuse.
OF COURSE: CNN BLAMES TRUMP
When the climate-change narrative didn’t stick, CNN reached for its backup villain.
At least 1,200 people died in the landslides that devastated Nepal in late August — and CNN thinks they know exactly who is to blame.
Not climate change. Not a normal weather event. But Trump (of course).
CNN published a report implying Trump’s responsibility by connecting the landslide to a funding cut that left Nepal’s landslide hotspots unmonitored — as if it’s America’s job to monitor Nepal’s hotspots.
“This must be one of the most idiotic stories ever authored. Trump is to blame for a glacier collapse on the other side of the earth?” Eric Trump responded. “CNN is a total joke.”
THE GREAT IMMIGRATION REVERSAL?
The Biden surge now appears to be running backward.
A preliminary analysis by the Center for Immigration Studies estimates the foreign-born population fell from roughly 53.3 million in January 2025 to 50.5 million this July — a drop of nearly 3 million in just 18 months.
If the analysis holds, it represents the first sustained net decrease in America’s immigrant population since the 1930s.
“We’ve never seen anything quite like this before,” said Steven Camarota, research director at CIS. “This is big and sustained.”
ACTIVIST JUDGE DOES IT AGAIN
A Biden-appointed activist judge proved, once again, that she’s a useful tool of the leftist agenda.
Federal Judge Deborah Boardman issued an order blocking President Trump’s new executive order targeting birth tourism and birthright citizenship, claiming it is “almost certainly unconstitutional.”
But the Trump administration disagrees.
In fact, a White House spokeswoman said the EO was designed to comply with the Supreme Court’s ruling this summer.
“The birthright citizenship executive order is consistent with the holdings and analysis set forth by the Supreme Court,” the spokeswoman said.
