Hello, I just had to make a very tough decision in our campaign to defeat Mitch McConnell.
As you probably know, Mitch McConnell has been spending millions of dollars on TV attacking Democrat Amy McGrath. And today, McConnell's Super PAC starting airing over $12 million worth of attack ads in Kentucky. So if we're going to defeat Mitch, it's critical that we respond now and stop him from drowning us out .
With ballots going out next week, and not being able to campaign door-to-door anymore, getting on the air to reach Kentucky voters is now an essential part of our strategy to Ditch Mitch this November.
It’s so important that I just authorized increasing the budget of our multi-million dollar TV, digital, and radio ad program against Mitch McConnell, even though we don't technically have all of the money in our budget to do so just yet.
We took this risk because we had to. The latest polling shows a tie between Amy McGrath and Mitch McConnell, but we know we won't stand a chance if we don't stay up on the air and counter his attacks. So I bit the bullet and made the bet that this grassroots team would come through and help us fill this budget gap... And we are immediately adding $45,000 to our new ad campaign in Kentucky against McConnell.
Look, in order to send Mitch packing – in order to get rid of the man who has had a chokehold on our democracy for far too long – we need to do everything we can to Ditch Mitch and take back the Senate. That means taking risks.
So before midnight tonight, I'm counting on you and every member of this grassroots movement to help us raise another $45,000 to close this budget gap and ensure our new TV ads against McConnell can stay up.
There are going to be a lot of hard spending decisions like this before Election Day. I hope we can count on you every step of the way.
Thank you so much for helping us to finally Ditch Mitch.
